Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Geneva to lead the U.S. delegation to the UN Human Rights Council high-level segment March 2-3. He will be joined in Geneva by Assistant Secretaries of State Sheba Crocker, Tom Malinowski, and Anne Richard. At the Council, the Deputy Secretary will deliver the U.S. national statement, highlighting the United States’ commitment to championing human rights and fundamental freedoms and the importance of those rights to the security and stability within and between countries around the world. In addition, he will attend other Council meetings and conduct bilateral meetings on the margins. On March 4, Deputy Secretary Blinken will travel to Paris for meetings with senior French officials to discuss ongoing cooperation on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues. The Deputy Secretary will launch his new Instagram account (@ABlinken) during this trip.
