The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) will welcome 137 first-year Fulbright foreign students from 75 countries and eight Fulbright U.S. student alumni, April 2–6, 2014, for a Fulbright Enrichment Seminar on “Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” During the seminar, Fulbrighters will explore the efforts of governments, organizations, and individuals to develop innovative solutions to local, national, and global challenges using principles of social entrepreneurship. The four-day event in Washington, D.C. is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) on behalf of the Department of State. Press must RSVP to attend any of the following events: Thursday, April 3 Thursday, April 3 Friday, April 4 Saturday, April 5 On Saturday, the Fulbright students will also have the opportunity to attend the TEDxFulbright 2014 Lunch and Social Innovation Competition from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (1615 H Street NW). The Washington, D.C. Fulbright Enrichment Seminar is one of nine enrichment seminars hosted across the United States by the State Department as part of its flagship Fulbright Program. These enrichment seminars, an integral part of the Fulbright experience, benefit first-year Fulbright foreign students and support the overall mission of the Fulbright Program.
