Sensex eases 80 pts ahead of IIP data
The benchmark BSE Sensex fell over 80 points and the NSE Nifty slipped below the 8,200-mark in early trade on Friday as participants lightened their bets ahead of the IIP data scheduled for the day amid weak global cues.

Rupee slips 16 paise against dollar in early trade
The rupee was trading lower by 16 paise at 66.87 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday on higher demand for the American currency from importers and banks. The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 80.38 points.

Government rules out capping of airline fares
Capping of airfares in the backdrop of complaints of arbitrary tariff hikes was ruled out by the government, which said that competition among the airlines will solve the problem. Civil aviation minister said restricting air fares could also jeopardise government's regional connectivity plan.
