U.S. Welcomes Appointment of Douglas Frantz as Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)

The United States welcomes the announcement by OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría of the appointment of Douglas Frantz, currently Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, as a Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD, succeeding William C. (Bill) Danvers.

Frantz was a reporter and editor for over 35 years before joining the State Department in September 2013, and worked as deputy staff director and chief investigator of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Frantz is also the author or co-author of 10 nonfiction books on topics ranging from nuclear proliferation and international bank fraud to the Holocaust and urban planning. The OECD is an organization of 34 like-minded market economies that supports countries in their economic reform efforts and helps raise standards across the global economy, thereby helping U.S. business, workers, and the broader public.
