Today, the Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships at the U.S. Department of State presents the mWhat event, held as part of the GSMA Mobile 360 Series – North America conference in Atlanta, Georgia. mWhat is an idea marketplace and pitch competition that aims to inspire new ways to address the world’s challenges through mobile technologies. mWhat uses untapped avenues in mobile to reach various industries and tackle global challenges with the use of mobile technology innovation much like mFish, mEducation and mHealth. The event will be hosted and moderated by Deputy Special Representative for Global Partnerships Thomas Debass. Other notable speakers include Peter Schwartz, Senior Vice President at Salesforce; Mahet Shah, M.D., Senior Project Leader at Harvard Business School; Wayan Vota, Director of Mobile at FHI360; and Edward Martin, CEO of GoodXChange. During the event, four innovators will present their new ideas and technologies that have the potential to create solutions and opportunities on social issues around the world.
