UNZA HOSTEL SET ON FIRE AS STUDENT PROTESTS ESCALATE;

Tensions at the University of Zambia have now escalated into a full scale riot.

A hostel at the highest institution of learning as been set on fire under unclear circumstances. 

Police in full riot gear have been fighting running battles with students since 16:30hrs. The atmosphere is pregnant with choking tear gas with canisters and other projectile lay strewn around.
