A university student was charged in court over a Facebook posting, linking former Kilome MP Harun Mwau to the helicopter crash that killed former Internal Security minister George Saitoti.

Stephen Muriuki Wainuki appeared before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Kiarie Waweru Kiarie and denied committing the offence.

He was charged that on May 12, he posted the message on Mwau's Facebook page, accusing him of being a drug dealer and responsible for the death of Saitoti, his assistant Orwa Ojode and four others.

The accused was released on cash bail of Shs 80,000. Mwau is the complainant in the case.
