Frank, honestly, you are referring to the barebones truth. But as it goes, popular region is not based on 'factual' belief, as it is on human tradition. It even becomes worse when human philosophy gain a higher standing than simple, straight forward, "it is written truth".

The reasons why many of us fail to see the truth are manifold including:
  • lack of inquiring minds
  • superficial faith
  • respect of tradition as opposed to learning-this can lead to suicide often
  • mis-presenting God's grace as tolerance to popular sin

Subject: [wanabidii] THE SON OF EASTER [ISHTAR] Easter Sunrise

Ishtar which is pronounced Easter was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their gods that they called Tamuz, who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon goddess and the sun-god. Her moon egg became known as Ishtar's egg. Ishtar soon became pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal that caused her to conceive. The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz.
He was noted to be fond of rabbits,& they became sacred in the ancient religion, because Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god Baal. Tamuzz became a hunter. When he was killed by a wild pig.Queen Ishtar told the people that he was now ascended to his father, Baal, and the two of them would be with the worshippers in the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, Son and Spirit.
There sat a woman weeping for tammaz. Thou shall see greater abominations. They faced toward the east & worshipped the sun….[Ezekiel 8:13-18]
If the Bible describes Passover then who does Easter Worship?
Easter [English]
Eastre [ Anglo –Saxon]
Ishtar [Babylonian]
Ashtaroth [Hebrew]
Astarte [Greek]
If the children of Israel couldn't use a golden calf to honor the Father, what makes you think you can use Easter (Ashtaroth), the Babylonian goddess of fertility to honor His Son?
"Remove from among you the foreign gods, and images of Ashtaroth. Give your hearts to YHVH and serve only Him." ~ 1 Samuel 7:3-4
