[wanabidii] Dagoreti Human Peace Caravan; a Huge Success

Friends,

The Dagoreti Human Peace Caravan was flagged off at 8.30am by the DC Dagoreti Mr. Cornelius Wamalwa at his offices this morning and it turned out to be a huge success and the best so far. And we had a surprise guest; Mr. Njoroge Waithera Njenga from the Freedom House. Freedom House is becoming a Premier Partner in the Kenyans for a Clean General Elections Campaign and on behalf of The Clean Kenya Campaign Team, I want to warmly receive this Partnership.

Dagoreti DC Mr. Cornelius Wamalwa addressing Residents of Kawangware 56 during the Dagoreti Human Peace Caravan

The Dagoreti Human Peace Caravan was led by the Administration Police Band, the DC and the entire Provincial Administration Team from Dagoreti District, the Dagoreti District Peace Committee Team led by their Chairman Mr. Charles Oloo, the Traffic Police Officers, the Kibera Community Justice Centre, Kituo Cha Sheria, Freedom House, Young Volunteers for the Environement K Chapter, and the turn out was simply amazing.

We took off at the DC's Office, went to Kawangware 46 with our first stop being at Mlango Soko. The Caravan then went to Congo with our last stop being Kawangware 56. The DC and his Team invited the People of Kawangware to live in Peace as One People under God, vote in Peace on the 4th March 2013, and celebrate or mourn in Peace after the results are announced. The DC noted that mistakes can onluy be made once. We made a mistake in 2007 and we cannot repeat the same now. This was the central message that was passed on by all speakers. It was exciting seeing and hearing comments from the Residents- all photos are posted on my Face Book Page and at University Students for a Clean Kenya on our Facebook Forum. We will also post these events on YouTube from Monday.

There was a huge turn-out and enthusiasm from Residents- especially when they broke into dance as the AP Band belted a Mugithi Song

On behalf of The Clean Kenya Campaign Team, I want to sincerely thank our Partners for making Kenyans for a Clean General Election Campaign be what it is. I want to specifically thank CHF International- Kenya Tuna Uwezo, Kituo Cha Sheria and Freedom House for their logistical support. CHF International- Kenya Tuna Uwezo and Kituo Cha Sheria paid for the presence of The Administration Police Band and for our Logistics. Mr. Njenga came, saw what we are doing and added us Kshs 1,000.00 to help pay for the PA and Sound System.

Lastly, I want to appreciate the entire partnership at Kenyans for a Clean General Elections;

The Campaign is gaining momentum and I have just been told that Dandora is going to be big on the 2nd February 2013. We are hosting a Consultative Forum with the DO Kariobangi South and his DPC Team, Youth and Women Leaders on Tuesday the 29th Jan 2013 at 10am at his offices, and we truly want to Walk for Peace in Dandora on the 2nd Feb.

The AP Band- our Partners in Kenyans for a Clean General Elections Campaign doing their thing in Kawangware today

Lastly, I want to salute the PC Nairobi Mr. Njoroge Ndirangu, whom I met with yesterday and he encouraged us for the good work we are doing. He noted that there will be obstacles on the way, but we must remain focused on the work ahead. He promised to join in one of the Human Peace Caravans despite his heavy work load. And again, on behalf of The Clean Kenya Campaign Team and all our Partners, may I salute Mr PC for this support.

The Campaign is also becoming expensive, but we have faith with our Partners. They have seen us this far and we know we are going the entire stretch. And again for effects, this is not the time to discuss Peace Matters in Conferences and Hotels. The time for planning is over and this is action time. May ALL the Peace Actors in Kenya come out of the Hotels and move to the Trenches.

Listening attentively to the Peace Message and the people said- Yes, we can live and vote in Peace
