[wanabidii] The Best; Kariobangi Clean up and Voter Education

Friends,

The Kariobangi Clean-up and Voter Education Campaign that was flagged off by Mr. Charles Mabonga- District Officer Kariobangi North this morning at the Kariobangi Catholic Church turned out to be the best so far in the on going series of Kenyans for a Clean General Election.

Mr. Mabonga, flanked with his Chiefs, officially launch the Kariobangi Clean up Campaign

There was massive turn-out from the Kariobangi Waste Management Alliance and I must salute their Chairman Mr. Emmanuel, and the entire Team for such enthusiasm. The Alliance, supported by the World Vision International is composed of the following Teams;

  1. Eagles,
  2. Exodus,
  3. Future,
  4. Githambe,
  5. Humble,
  6. Kamash,
  7. Marura,
  8. Samba,
  9. Shirikisho,
  10. Tuinuke,
  11. Tushikamane,
  12. Twaweza, and Vijana, and they turned out in large numbers and very eager to work for a Clean Kenya and a Clean and Peaceful Election.

The sweet part was when the Team broke in to song and dance immediately after we finished the Clean-up, and rolled along Kamunde Road with ocassional stop overs calling on Kenyans to Campaign Peacefully, elect their various Party Nominees tomorrow Peacefully, and then move towards the elections on the 4th March 2013 as One Family under God.

The Peace Caravan went upto Kariobangi Market and into the Kariobangi Police Station where we met Police Officers who joined with us in cleaning the Station, and then to the Kariobangi Social Hall where we were addressed by the Chair Kariobangi Waste Management Alliance- Mr. Emmanuel, the Assistant Divisional Environment Officer City Council of Nairobi- Ms Cecilia Mukiwa, and she was ably assisted by Mr. Felix Luvutse, the Programmes Manager World Vision International Ms Martha Nadupoi, who was accompanied by Mr. Dennis Sabila, and finally the DO Kariobangi South Mr. Charles Mabonga- he was our Chief Guest.

All the speeches were focused on keeping our Country Clean and moreso, engaging in Clean and Peaceful Campaigns- both at the Nomination Stages and at the actual Elections on 4th March 2013.

It was nice watching the Assistant Divisional Environment Officer Madam Cecilia in action

On behalf of The Clean Kenya Campaign, I want to sincerely appreciate all those who turned out in such large numbers to make today a success. I want to appreciate the Kariobangi Waste Management Alliance, World Vision International, the City Council of Nairobi, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and the Provincial Administration for their support, partnership and participation. I cannot forget The Clean Kenya Campaign Crew that worked with us today; Edgar, Denno and Kasarani. You make us proud, and thank you so much.

We are now headed for the Mathare Human Peace Caravan slated for Saturday the 19th January 2013, and all Peace Actors are invited to join with us on this day. The Caravan will be flagged off by the PC Nairobi Mr. Njoroge Ndirangu outside the Redeemed Gospel Church at 8.00am.

And Mr. Peter Nyaga- the Chairman of the Kongowea Traders Welfare Association, has just informed us that they will conduct a Clean-up cum Voter Education Campaign at Kongowea Market on Saturday the 19th January 2013 as from noon. All our Partners and Friends in and around Mombasa are invited to join with them for this noble exercise.
