Evans,
Did you read my post of yesterday? These people went back to their land/farms a long time ago. They are now being rewarded for voting for the Jubilee Government! Not fair for us at the Coast. We did not vote for Jubilee so we only got dusty tittle deeds that have been in people's draws for years. We need to be compensated for current and historical injustices also! But who will fight for us?

Perhaps we need to understand the definition of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the context of Post Elections Violence (P.E.V) OF 2007/8 in Reference to the Mutesh land that has been returned and a compensation of 5 million as was ordered by the court.

during the P.E.V Upheaval,we had so many people housed at Jamuhuri park,Mathare North,Dandora among other places in Nairobi.

We also had some in the towns that were affected where RUDU NYUMBANI campaigns saw them make to their Ushagos.

WHO ARE THE CURRENT OCCUPANTS OF THE LAND ONCE INHABITED BY THE IDPS THE GOVT IS COMPENSATING? I thought the money being dished out by the govt is to help the displaced persons to resettle i.e. start incoming generating projects and put up new living structures on the land they once occupied.
When the money is meant to help them buy new pieces of land, I'm lost in the dark. I thought there was reconciliation and that just like what deputy President Ruto did to return Mr. Muteshi's 100 acres, those who forcefully took IDP land would have returned it to the original owners or give them cash to buy new ones, if there was goodwill and truthfulness in reconciliation.
