[wanabidii] Re: English Pronunciation - Correction

Sorry but I committed a few spelling and omission sins in my previous submission and I've now corrected them here. I apologize. Disregard the earlier version.

My daughter just caught me in a mispronunciation of a very common word. By the way, my daughter is very pedantic about these things.

It's a very simple word and one that no one ever thinks about but it symbolizes how difficult it is to learn to speak English. English pronunciation has no formula and each word is memorized independently of the others.
Here we go:

REBEL  (to go against the rules)
If you're using it as a verb
It is pronounced as R-I-B-E-L
For example:  The kids must never rebel (RIBEL) against the teachers

But if used as a noun, the pronunciation changes.
REBEL  now becomes  R-E-B-O-L    (One who goes against the rules)
For example: Papa Likondi is the only rebel (REBOL) in that group of dog sellers.

As for REBELLION
It is pronounced as  R-E-B-E-L-I-O-N

I don't know why those who started this language made things this complicated.
These are the reasons I hated English all throughout my childhood, and to this day.

Anyway, I hope this helps those who were curious to confirm.

Courage
