[wanabidii] Otonglo narrator lives with his widowed mum in the slum

Good People!

Let me share with you this very touching and moving story of a
gifted, skillful and talented upcoming young.......He has some
excellent potentials that must not be left to bury under his
circumstancial poverty situation.

This boy needs urgent assistance and help for scholarship to complete his education. He is a role-model to his peer-group
and a resource to his community and the greater world.

Larry Madowo spoke to this schoolboy who wowed President Uhuru Kenyatta during the gala performance by winning schools at this years national drama festivals in Mombasa. His name is Daniel Awira a form two student at Highway Secondary School. He was live in our studio telling us about the Otonglo and his story which ironically revolves around Otonglo, Luo for ten cents.

Talent in adversity: Otonglo narrator still lives with widowed mum in slum

Daniel Owira, the last of six children took part in his first ever stage performance 'Otonglo Time!' A narrative so well done, he even got to present it to the President, and well threw it in there that the President should tweet him. This is in total contrast to the life he actually leads... one of struggling. Raised by a single mother, barely scrapping by with the little she earns to meet the family's needs, especially her son's school fees. NTV's Beryl Wambani spent the day with him and filed this report.
