[wanabidii] Shock as Mutula found dead in bed

Margaret Gichuki,

We are not rushing into judgement, we are sick and tired of how people
are slaughtered, exterminated, are brutally killed and are forcefully driven
out of their homes, their dwelling places and community by the gun in Kenya and yet the Government is doing nothing but cover-up....

You know I love everyone equally the same and by how much God
has Blessed me, I am in a position to simply reach out to acquire
enough for my family, settle down and enjoy life to the fullest. Ask
your self why I do not do that and worry about nothing. It is because
life is not complete when Peace, Unity and Love is absent and it has
been stolen by the wicked evil spirit.

The purpose of God's creation is LOVE. It is the commandment
through which, God gave us care and share. God did not creat us to
live in isolation and be selfish and greedy. He Blessed us and
demanded that we be Responsible at rendering services cordially in
harmony and in a balance share fairly gifts of God. Through our hard
work and in pain, we shall enjoy the fruits of happiness on earth; but,
God warned us to beware and watch out on the devil, the wicked evil
one who come to steal, kill and destroy. It is in caring and sharing
that we shall be at peace in unity enjoying fruits of the commandments
of LOVE.

Margaret, this is the reason why I cannot relax secluded in my corner.

We have a job to do. We are not in judgement, like Tebiti has put it so
uptly, "There are lots of explanation lingering" why the Government is
slack and slow to act in the investigation of Sen. Kilonzo Mutula. There
are lots of lose evidence in the public place that provide for lead to
investigation instead of leaving the world in suspense. These are clear
leads that are causing panic and serious speculation to the general
public and the world. We want to know what the Government did with
the information Mutula put to the Parliament and the security he was
given when he complained about his life with that of his family being
in danger. These are leads the Government must come clean about.

These are reason I feel Mutual was not given his obligated rights for
security and protection. Could these be reasons for dilly dallying of
getting to the bottom of what happened, what did the intelligence get,
what could have possibly led to circumstantial foaming found on his
mouth, what was the state of the body when found, who could have
been the first suspects, why was he sad, sorrowful and remorseful
the previous evening when he met with coleagues at Parliament and
so on and so forth, summary of which he was found by his death-bed.

These are preliminary issue-based details the public want to know in
order they can trust governments' investigative process to ascertain
trust. But the way things are, and the way the situation is handled by
the security is suspecious and worrisome.

Because of excessive corruption, organized terrorims, threats also
including Land Grabbing and Human Rights crime, violation and abuses
in Kenya, we are very worried and anxious that Kenya and Kenyans
are not safe under the corrupt police and political cover-ups. It is the
reason why many more lives will be targeted and people shall be killed.
Considering that we recently lost Saitoti and Ojode with 6 occupants
in Chopper, we shall not take this matter easy.

We are not going to give the Government's political agents a soft carpet
intimidate and oppress people through fear-factors mafia tactics. This
world does not belong to a few special interests, but to all of us.
To get to the bottom of our pain and sufferings, why we are in extreme
poverty and have no happiness; we demand for a right to independent
investigative experts to be determined and expose the truth for action
to be instituted.

Yes it is a huge shock indeed to every peace loving Kenyan. We are yet to come to terms as to how he died in a such painful yet quiet death in his bedroom without anybody hearing when he straggled to get to the birth-tab sick to emit orally. Yes he was by himself, that could be one of the reasons. However, how come our state investigative organs haven't picked any suspect for questioning about his death? The only info we have is that they asked the house help about his condition and how he looked like when he arrived at his ranch. Just a few days ago, two bombs were planted at a marathon even in Boston, Massachusetts which exploded killing three innocent bystanders and maimed dozens of hundreds people. It only took a couple of hours to know who the suspects were and a manhunt pursuit to apprehend them was instituted immediately. It has been about 48 good hours and yet the Kenyan authorities have "absolutely NO clue" as to the events leading to Sen Mutula's demise. This is a high profile investigation which calls for the suspension of whatever what these guys were working on and address this crucial issue. Kenyans are eagerly waiting for the answers because Sen Mutula was a national leader. When our national leaders start dying in such uncalled for ways, then that means we are in for a rude awakening-TROUBLE!! When some kind of leader said that he did not want to be sworn in holding a Bible yet he is not a Muslim, then that meant a whole lot of explanation as to WHY??? Mutula's investigations should start with the house help tracking his route backwards. Where did he stop and what did he consume or drink prior to arriving at his ranch? I hope we will come to the bottom of this matter and justice awarded to Sen Kilonzo Mutula's family and the entire Kenyan community. May he rest in peace, AMEN
May God Bless Kenya as we go forward in darkness!!!!!
TOI

The country was Saturday thrust into mourning following the sudden death of Makueni Senator and former Cabinet minister Mutula Kilonzo at his ranch in Maanzoni, Machakos County.
Mr Kilonzo was found dead in bed yesterday at around 11 am by his workers. Brother-in-law Chris Musau, who was the first relative to arrive at Mr Kilonzo's home, confirmed the death after he was notified by the workers.
Police and medical personnel were called in to investigate what had caused the sudden death that left the family devastated and the country searching for answers.
Mr Kilonzo arrived at the ranch on Friday at around 3 pm as is his routine on most weekends when he does not have engagements that would keep him away. The workers said he was in a jovial mood when he arrived at the ranch driving himself.
"He alighted and went round the flower beds, giving instructions here and there on how the place should look," a worker said.
He was alone and inspected the ranch before he was served dinner at around 7 pm. The rest of his family lives in Nairobi and the former Education minister visits the ranch regularly.
According to the workers who cannot be named because they were instructed not to speak to the media, the Senator went to bed immediately after dinner. He had been served githeri (a meal of maize and beans) but instead asked to be given roast meat.
He ate alone and then retired for the night. Breakfast was served yesterday morning but the workers noticed that Mr Kilonzo had not touched it at around 10 am which they found unusual.
After calling him out without an answer, they proceeded to his bedroom that had not been locked and found him lying in bed with foam covering his mouth. There was vomit in the sink in his bathroom.
The workers then rushed to call Mr Musau who heads the Maanzoni Lodge located about five kilometres away from Mr Kilonzo's ranch. On arrival, Mr Musau tried to wake him up but the Senator did not respond.
He then rushed to the hotel where members of the Kenya Medical Association (KMA) were holding a conference and called in doctors who accompanied him back to Mr Kilonzo's home where they confirmed he was dead.
Family members, close relatives and various leaders were then called with information about the death.
In the afternoon, Mr Musau emerged from the house to brief the media.
"For now all we can confirm is that Mr Kilonzo is dead," Mr Musau, speaking on behalf of the family, said.
His son Mutula Kilonzo Junior, daughter Kethi Kilonzo and wife Nduku Kilonzo had arrived at the ranch from Nairobi.
Mr Kilonzo's house was immediately secured by police officers as investigations got under way to establish the cause of the death that shocked the country.
As at 6 pm last evening, Mr Kilonzo's body was still at his ranch as medical and police investigators got down to establishing the possible cause of death.
The team of doctors included a government pathologist and his personal physician.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, former Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos County Senator Johnstone Muthama, Rongo MP Dalmas Otieno, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka were among the first leaders to arrive at the ranch.
Mr Musyoka said it was difficult to say what exactly happened.
"We leave it to the team of doctors who have come to work on the body and we hope that they will get down to the bottom of the matter," he said.
"The death of Mutula has shaken us all and is one of the most unexpected news. It's hard to say anything," Mr Musyoka said.
Mr Odinga described the death as a tragedy coming soon after the Senate opened its door for business where Mr Kilonzo served.
He revealed that he had lunch with Mr Kilonzo on Thursday in Nairobi.
"At this moment, speculation is high but we ask Kenyans to remain calm. We in the Cord coalition will do everything possible to make sure that the truth of Mr Kilonzo's death is told," he said.
"It is a big loss for the Cord team as Mr Kilonzo was a pillar and central to our operations."
CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro said the cause of death could not be immediately established but the police would liaise with pathologists to establish what happened.
All the persons who interacted with him last will record statements with the police, Mr Muhoro said.
Later the body was moved to Lee Funeral Home.
"Since the circumstances surrounding the death were not very clear, it was necessary that proper investigations be carried out to establish the cause," he said.
Police said that a pathologist was called in since he would be better placed to handle the samples to avoid contamination, and conduct preliminary investigations at the scene.
According to the pathologist, Dr Johansen Oduor, who was at the home, the body had no marks of physical injuries. Dr Oduor collected samples from the bedroom and the sink and later escorted the body to Lee Funeral Home.
