Zanzibar Qualified for the Semi Finals of the CECAFA Tusker Senior Challenge Cup on Monday evening after a 6-5 win over Burundi on penalties. Captain Nadir "Cannavaro" Haroub hopes for an all Tanzania Final if both Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar win their Semi Finals matches.
"It is an awesome feeling qualifying for the Semi finals. This is like our world Cup and we are indeed delighted. I am also happy because our brothers Tanzania mainland also qualified for the Semis and it would be a dream having both of us in the finals,"
Zanzibar coach thanking Mainlanders . . .
"I am one excited man and the players have made me happier. They have great fighting spirits and they never gave up the fight. I am quite sure that of we maintain the same tempo we can go all the way to the finals," he adds.
He also thanked Tanzanian fans who stayed on to cheer them, "We are one nation and I am very grateful to the people of Tanzania mainland who cheered us on. I am happy that both of us are in the Semi Finals and who knows; we might meet in the finals," he concludes.
