Kwa upande mwingine, hebu tu analyse.  Hiyo style ya Shebesh ya kuvamia offisi ya Kidero ni analog au ni digital???

 

 

Maybe if we start from the point of reason, we shall get all facts that

may lead us to the whole story. 

 

 

A picture is worth a thousand words.  But if the video circulated does

not tell us anything of the whole episode, then it is questionable and

it becomes suspecious.  Shall we therefore, begin with the genesis of

the problem.

 

 

The style at which Shebesh stormed Kideros Office looks worrisome

and problematic....remember, we are trying to find faults with those

policy law-makers who should have known better how to get about

doing things on fairplay.  Without doubt, these are suppose to be

knowledgeable smart guys....and so, we all must be fair in our way

of judgement........although, we were not at the scene, still we must

use good intelligence in our judgement.  The forensic evidence of a

full view process will suffice, but not when the caption is doctored.

Very few things rattle me and the recent incident where Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero slapped Nairobi women representative, Ms. Rachel Shebesh in the full glare of cameras is one of them. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; in this case, the footage is worth a million words and speaks for itself – of a violent and impulsive governor Kidero slapping Ms. Shebesh as hard as he could. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59s25NxD32M

 His assault of Mrs. Shebesh was simply an unmitigated crime on the woman and we need to stand up to the governor and those of his ilk too drunk with power to respect women and the rule of law. Assault against anybody let alone women is abhorrent and must not stand. Kidero knows or should have known that and his disregard for the rules renders him unsuitable to continue as Governor of Nairobi. Granted that Mrs. Shebesh could have handled herself in a ladylike manner, after all she has her own "rap sheet" of confrontations but that is no excuse for anyone to assault her the way Governor Kidero did. The governor gave men in Kenya a bad image and I believe we all, especially men, stand up to Kidero and let him know we will not put up with his nonsense. We simply cannot turn a blind eye in the face of such blatant abuse of power any which way you look at it.

Dr. Kidero's assault on Shebesh once again reminds us that Kenya's elite and powerful seem adamant that they are above the rules because they believe they can get away with anything. His is the epitome of the rot that still plagues high offices in the country, which we all desperately fight to stamp out. Like the bully he has revealed himself to be, Governor Kidero's assault on Shebesh was cowardly, there is absolutely nothing manly about a bulky man of his stature throwing the first punch at a woman and then refusing to own up to his mistake. Even knowing that he was caught on Camera hitting the woman, like a coward, Governor Kidero denied hitting her, feigning memory loss! Then he later "apologized" only this time with convoluted caveats and a claim that Shebesh went for his manhood! Really Kidero?! Really?!  I mean can you get any more bizarre? Shame on you Kidero, pick on someone of your size, like a real man- not a woman, come on now!

 

The governor exhibited an aura of invincibility that the ruling class is notorious for and we must put an end to it. We all remember the national outrage sparked by former Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza when she poked the nose of Kerubo the security guard. Hers was hardly an assault in the legal sense, it was insipid compared to Kidero's brazen assault on Shebesh and yet we the people collectively hounded Justice Baraza out of office. How can we, in good conscience, allow Kidero the bully to continue as governor of Kenya's capital city, HOW and WHY? How do you reconcile the two?

Consequently, Kidero's position as a governor is untenable and a liability to the nation as a whole at this point, his assault was criminal to say the least and a clear demonstration that he is incapable of handling the pressures of office of Governor of Nairobi.

What's also noticeably disturbing is that there is no comment or condemnation from the country's top leadership, particularly by Governor Kidero's party- CORD; which can only be inter

Kidero must face consequences commensurate with his transgressions including assault charges resignation from office or removal. As I stated elsewhere above, former Deputy Chief Justice was removed from office for far less crime than Kidero's and therefore his punishment must equally be proportional. I fully expect Public Prosecutor to file formal charges against the Governor and for the people of Nairobi and Kenya as a whole to band together and send the governor home. Violence against women or anybody else for that matter has no place in Kenya let alone in public office- Keidero has violated public trust and his oath of office and must be removed from office- PERIOD.
