[wanabidii] English Pronunciation

Today I have the best of news ever. KTN News has embraced my message. I raised their consciousness and they have come. They are now with me. They are now taking pronunciation seriously. As of today, they will be fielding pronunciation as a segment of their Friday Prime News.

My frequent nagging letters to them worked. But I'm disappointed that they hired some guy named Willis Ochieng' ( aka The Word Master) as their pronunciation expert. they should have hired me; I brought up the idea.

Today Willis walked them though a few words. Let me give you some examples:

AUGUST:
The correct way to say this is  O-G-A-S-T

PRONUNCIATION
The correct way to say this is  P-R-O-N-A-N-S-I-E-SH-O-N

DECADE:
The correct way ti say this is  D-E-K-E-D

SCHEDULE
The British way is         SH-E-J-U-L
The American way is    S-K-E-J-U-L
Either one is acceptable. Snobs use the British way but ordinary folks use the American one.

We're getting there.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Betty Kyalo is all that !!!!  Not anywhere close to my girlfriend but all that.

Courage
