[wanabidii] Raila VIP lounge lock-out denied

Maurice,

I can understand how passionately you tried to defend this case and to some point you may be right when you are looking at it on one side of the angle; but if you care to wear a balanced lens and view the scenario picturesque from a neutral point, you will have a different view point.

I say this because, by the time the two groups were going to the polls, both the two groups were at the extreme end to out-do each other. They were both full of hate at their maximum. Now the elections are long over and it is clear the hatchets have not been buried and the reality check is not yet adopted.

Irrespectively, the choices have been made and the chapter is now closed; what is left is people to look forward to public service delivery. This is where we need to focus.......I am really not interested in side-shows of some sort of conspiracies.........We have a lot of job to do.........We have to help establish institution of local Counties for County Governors to begin work to serve their constituency.

County Governors are already earning salaries but are doing nothing because organization of Counties facilities are not yet in operational. This is where our focus should be.

President Uhuru and VP Ruto are showing signs that they want things to work and we seem to like what we are seeing. Will you, in all fairness say this kind of act is showing unity of purpose or it is a destructive scheme to slow and create obstacles to obstruct positive facilitation of public service delivery??? If so, who stand to loose in this instances.......???

Maurice, we do not wish to incite civil war in Kenya or even throw Kenya to the dogs. Consequences of Civil War are devastating as they are catastrophic. Good people of Kenya, I trust we can do better than staging confrontational challenges that are of no value. Any sane person can see that, this motivated conspiracy was poorly engineered to justify public ugly reaction and sympathy, which by Grace of God flopped and did not materialize.

While we shall be waiting for the next election in 5 years to come, it is my considered appeal that, we Endeavour to streamline and Unite Kenyans under unity of common purpose; to collectively put together and finalize Local Counties for public service utility and facility service delivery and consequently avoid side-shows that are insignificant and are unfavorable aimed at causing conflicts, dividing people and diverting attention.

We can do better than getting at each other's throats.....Eventually, it is the people who stand to lose, who must therefore decide not to be taken for fools; but set their priorities right with clear focus what goals they want to achieve, and how they wish to be governed by leaders they elect...........Time is of essence.......we cant afford to waste anymore time doing nothing productive........

ooh!!! what a wonderful video. May God bless the work of your hands. The story is painful but a good warning of negative ethnicity. Let us all live like brothers and sisters.

Judy,

I think you're very trusting if you believe what you're saying. This is not a molehill, this is as a serious issue which at best is settling political scores and at worst, hatred and tribalism against the Luos. Why did that memo from Kimemia have only Raila's name and not Moi or Kibaki and their spouses?

Their main argument is that Raila is no longer in elected office, fine. But would they treat Moi and Kibaki the same way? Would they treat retired foreign leaders such as Mandela, Bishop Tutu, the Clintons, Tony Blair etc. the same way? I think not.

This is a clear act of political hatred and probably tribalism and should be condemned with the contempt it deserves. Uhuru has been charged with facilitating the massacres in Nakuru/Naivasha where Luos bore the brunt of that inhumanity. Another case of Uhuru harassing Raila would reinforce the case against Uhuru at the Hague. I'm sure akina Kimemia did not think of that. Boneheads !!!!! Bure kabisa !!!!

Good People,

There is absolutely nothing here except building a mountain out of a molehill...........what a kiddish shameful thing..........I cant
believe this is the best productive time consuming agenda we
had to engage our brains the whole day........Really ???

Now, even if it were, it is only natural to demand to speak with
the supervisor on duty or someone superior/senior to resolve the
problem or straighten out any missunderstanding if there would
be......which I doubt, there would have been any complications...

We must train ourselves to act civil and stop flaming emmotions
for no good reasons.......

Lets nurture peace and unity people.....!!!

The Kenya Airports Authority says former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his wife were not denied use of the VIP lounge at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The former PM's aide Eliud Owala said the airport officers barred Mr. Odinga from using the VIP lounge. ODM leaders have condemned the incident and are seeking apology from the Jubilee Government. NTV's Ken Mijungu reports.

Raila VIP lounge lock-out denied

In Summary
  • KAA also said that it has confirmed that, contrary to reports appearing in sections of the media, Mr Odinga and his wife Ida were allowed access and the use of the Government VIP lounge on Monday and last Friday, respectively.
  • KAA also clarified that JKIA has three VIP lounges — the State Pavilion for the President and visiting Heads of State, the VIP III lounge for the Deputy President and retired Heads of State and the Government VIP lounge for ambassadors and government VIPs.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his wife were allowed access to the VIP lounge at JKIA, the airports authority has said.
On Monday, it was reported that Mr Odinga was blocked from using a lounge normally reserved for VIPs at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
A Kenya Airports Authority official said to have barred Mr Odinga and his wife is alleged to have cited an order by a top civil servant.
"Kenya Airports Authority would like to clarify that the former Prime Minister and his wife were not denied access to the VIP lounge at JKIA," a statement from KAA's corporate affairs department said.
KAA also said that it has confirmed that, contrary to reports appearing in sections of the media, Mr Odinga and his wife Ida were allowed access and the use of the Government VIP lounge on Monday and last Friday, respectively.
However, the authority confirmed that no convoy can drive to the airside, because JKIA is
a highly restricted security zone.
"According to national security regulations, only vehicle convoys belonging to the President of Kenya, visiting Heads of State and the Deputy President of Kenya can access the airside at any of the airports in Kenya," the statement said.
KAA also clarified that JKIA has three VIP lounges — the State Pavilion for the President and visiting Heads of State, the VIP III lounge for the Deputy President and retired Heads of State and the Government VIP lounge for ambassadors and government VIPs.
ODM yesterday demanded an apology from the government for "humiliating" Mr Odinga.
Addressing journalists at Orange House in Nairobi, MPs Manson Nyamweya, Gladys Wanga, Mishi Juma, Silvanos Osele and Simeon Ogari said denying Mr Odinga access was "barbaric and archaic."
They said the former PM still commands the support of more than half of Kenyans and should be respected.
