[wanabidii] English Pronunciation

As I was watching some Kenyan news via the Net, there was a case of this 19 yr-old boy in Kajiado County who had been arrested and charged with murder.

He had attacked a 70 yr-old woman, killed her and cut her body into pieces. The boy confessed the whole thing on TV. In comes the Kajiado OCPD, a very articulate and intelligent-looking police executive. His command of the language was very impressive, however, he did make 2 very very minor errors in pronouncing the following words:

Mutilate

He said:                      M-u-t-i-l-e-e-t
He should have said:    M-i-yu-t-i-l-e-e-t

Custody

He said:                      K-a-s-t-o-d-i
He should have said:    K-a-s-t-a-d-i

All in all, the OCPD really shocked me. His English was flawless.

Courage
