Shirika la Bima lipo, na litaendelea kuwepo. Hakuna nchi duniani ambayo haina/haifanyi biashara ya Bima. Ni biashara nyeti sana na muhimu, ndio maana kila nchi(angalau za Commonwealth) zina sheria inaitwa Third Party (Compulsory) Insurance, kulazimisha kukata bima, na kutofanya hivyo, ni kosa la jinai.

Turudi kwenye NIC. Shirika lilikumbwa na matatizo mengi, baadhi yakisababishwa na sheria mbovu ya mashirika ya umma(1969), kuingiliwa na wanasiasa na kujiingiza katika miradi mingi ambayo haikuwa na tija. Zaidi ya hayo, uzalendo wa kiuchumi pia haukuwepo. Kuanzishwa kwa kampuni tanzu ya BIMOL kulichangia kulifilisi NIC kwani shughuli zake zingeweza kufanywa vizuri tu na kampuni hodhi, lakini wakubwa wangekula wapi? Na Meneja Mkuu wa Bima si ilikuwa ni lazima awe na himaya?

Sasa kuna "turn around" ya uchumi, na sera zimebadilika sana, ikiwemo kuwepo kwa Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority,(TIRA) inayodhibiti uendeshaji wa shughuli za Bima nchini.

Nimalizie kwa kumpa pole(na si kumpongeza) Ndugu Mwandu, maana, akiwa mtu wa kweli, alichopewa ni mzigo, na sio ulaji!

 Kwa commitment, uchumi wetu tunaweza kuurudisha kwenye mstari. Kila la kheri!
