[wanabidii] MPs, traders on MRC list of financiers.......Businessman Murdered in Nakuru

What is going on in Kenya should not be taken with a pinch of
salt........Something somewhere is not right why killings are
done with a passion and no one is charged yet links to the facts
are bare.......

Nominated MP sheikh Dor says he's ready and willing to fund the Mombasa republican council -MRC. His remarks come a day after the CID boss Ndegwa Muhoro announced that they were following leads that indicated a number of MPs and businessmen were financing the group, with the aim of having them arrested and prosecuted. ...

Right now they can't do much because the courts legalized MRC. So any funding to the group would be considered legal. The bright side is that if the new AG appeals the legality of the group and wins, we will all know who's behind the secession movement at the Coast.

A prominent businessman and his wife have been murdered by thugs at their home in Nakuru's Milimani estate.Shamji Shah and his wife Sacita Ben Shah—were the owners of spin knit factory and spin-knit dairies which was bought out by Brookside dairies---police say they were murdered on Friday night when three men armed with pistols raided their home. Shah was also the chairman of the Nakuru business association...
according to Jayesh Shah, son to the deceased, the incident occurred at around 7.30pm and the thugs shot and killed the two at close arrange at the corridor between the bedroom and sitting room before ransacking the house but did not steal anything.
Jayesh said the thugs entered the compound through the front gate before gaining entry through the main door and tied the security guard during the incident which took about 20 minutes.
the thugs also shot and injured a woman who was aboard a tuk tuk as they fled from the scene.
Definately a hired Hit. I just dont understand how people just kill with no remorse yet when the same stupid thugs are caught... they want to play victim.
No security in Kenya.
Looks like it was a hired hit.

Police investigating anti-election violence at the Coast have prepared a list of politicians and businessmen allegedly funding the Mombasa Republican Council (MRC). The list, which we have seen but cannot publish for legal reasons, includes four key suspects now under closer scrutiny.
Those targeted include two Members of Parliament from Mombasa County, another from Kilifi and two prominent businessmen based in Mombasa town.
On Friday, detectives in the Police investigating anti-election violence at the Coast have prepared a list of politicians and businessmen allegedly funding the Mombasa Republican Council (MRC). The list, which we have seen but cannot publish for legal reasons, includes four key suspects now under closer scrutiny.
Those targeted include two MPs from Mombasa County, another from Kilifi and two prominent businessmen based in Mombasa.
On Friday, detectives in the Coast region said they have found documents exposing a larger network of businessmen and politicians funding the group's activities. They include two MPs with a history of clandestine activity, three aspirants for the post of governor and a top politician eyeing a seat in the Senate. Others on the list, whose authenticity has not been proven, are key businessmen and landowners, including some absentee landlords.
Other security sources say MRC leaders have had suspicious contacts with several foreign organisations that consider their cause non-violent.
Some 17 people arrested in an anti-MRC crackdown were on Friday charged in Kilifi and Kwale over illegal assembly. These include a French national and a Belgian charged with illegal assembly in Diani, and two activists charged in Kwale and Kilifi for inciting disobedience of Kenyan laws. The organisation's leader, Omar Mwamnwadzi, remains at large having fled his Ng'ombeni home on Monday. Unconfirmed reports suggest he slipped into Tanzania at the start of the crackdown.
CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro disclosed in Mombasa on Friday that police have a treasure trove of information on key figures behind the separatist leaders. Muhoro did not state where or when the information was received, but security sources in Mombasa say some of it was gathered through analysis of cell-phone traffic involving MRC operatives and documents seized from MRC leaders now in police custody. Additionally, according to these sources, detectives came across these names in sting operations, especially in Kwale, Kisauni in Mombasa and Kilifi where separatist sentiment is strongest.
"We are still investigating businessmen and politicians over funding of MRC," said Muhoro who added detectives are "still gathering credible evidence to take them to court." The Standard on Saturday has learned that the list of suspected financiers was prepared in Nairobi and distributed to all security authorities in the Coast region's six counties, where a crackdown on MRC militants and activity has been underway since Monday.
Reports indicated that the businessmen and leaders accused of supporting the MRC have either paid bonds for the group's leaders in court, facilitated movement of youths into forests for oathing or taken part in sustaining the philosophy of separatism, xenophobia and radicalism behind MRC's calls to break away from Kenya.

Nominated MP, Sheikh Mohamed Dor, has vehemently defended politicians and business tycoons accused of funding separatist group, the Mombasa Republican Council (MRC).
Sheikh Dor also appealed to Internal Security Minister Katoo ole Metito to invite MRC representatives to a leaders' peace meeting in Mombasa on Monday. Speaking after the launch of the Unity Party of Kenya (UPK) at Chandaria Hall in Mombasa on Saturday, Sheikh Dor said since the High Court had lifted the ban on MRC, anybody could fund it.
Legitimate concerns
"MRC has not approached me for funding, but I can assist the movement if they do so because it has been legitimised by the court," he said.
He was quick to point out that he did not know the financiers, but said they 'should not be treated as criminals'. Sheikh Dor who is eyeing the Mvita parliamentary seat said Kenyans or even foreigners could finance MRC.
To discuss the violence that has been witnessed recently at the Coast, the Internal Security ministry has called for a meeting with local leaders at the Mombasa Government Training Institute to address the emergence of gangs including MRC, which has threatened to disrupt national examinations and the General Election. Sheikh Dor claimed MRC is campaigning for land rights and jobs, consequently, should be invited to tomorrow's meeting. Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa said successive government had ignored the Coast region. "This new party acts as the vessel to that will unite Kenyans and end marginalisation," he said.
The Director of Criminal Investigation Department Ndegwa Muhoro said they were investigating financiers of MRC. Sheikh Dor said he was opposed to attempts by some MPs to push for Sh9.4 million send off perk for each of them.
