The board of directors of the Tanzania Electric Company (TANESCO), which met early this week, has been caught in a standoff, with calls for the power utility to declare in public the fate of its suspended boss, Mr William Mhando.
In a situation which has signalled a state of indecision by TANESCO's management over the allegations facing Mr Mhando and other suspended senior officers of the parastatal, its spokesperson, Ms Badra Masoud, has been providing misleading statements to journalists that the board of directors was set to hold a press conference on the matter.
