When asked at an interview to relate a weakness, you're being tested for honesty, sincerity and ability to learn and grow.
They know that everyone has a weakness and no one is perfect. they want to know if you're aware of your own weakness and what you are doing to address it.

Be sincere but give an example of a weakness that seems to be helpful to the employer, at least on the surface anyway.
"I'm perfect" or  "I'm a workaholic" are bad answers and will be seen as jokes. Tell a story of an incident in which this weakness displayed itself and how you are now dealing with it.

Here is one example reply.

My work generally involves projects that are done as a group of 5-10 with me as the leader/supervisor/manager. In such a project, I find that it's always very important to me that the group gets along at a personal level. we all have a stake in the outcome and having personal differences can hinder the quality and pace of work. I therefore work really hard to get everyone to get along. I have found that this is a very difficult thing to do. it's very hard to get any 5-10 people to get along at a personal level.  My attempts at this usually saps the energy and time that i could be spending on the project.
Let me give you one example that made me aware of this weakness:

We had this project to design a Water Purification Plant. Our team was composed of  people from all associated requisite areas of the project i.e. Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, IT professional, Operations professional, Technicians and Legislation person. In such a project, The Chemical Engineer is the lead and he/she provides the big picture with estimated flow Streams and required equipment. this is then given to the various professionals to add in their detailed designs. Each of them can proceed and do their parts independent of the others. But no. In our project, the Mechanical Engineer (ME) did not get along with the Operations Professional (OP), and there was trouble. Each was waiting for the other's section. The ME would not start until the OP guy was done, and vice versa. The project stalls and valuable time was consumed.
I spent several evenings entertaining these 2 people to get them to get along so they could work together complete their sections in time. The project barely made the deadline.

I learned from this project that the getting along was not necessary, even though desirable. From then on, now I call an initial Project Meeting; we agree on a timeline, we direct who has to do what and hand over his/her work to whom and when etc.

Don't get me wrong though; I'm still a dreamer and I still hope that in any project, my team members can get along at a personal level.

I actually used this in one interview and the interview panel was very pleased. I was hired.

Courage

You are in a job interview and you're asked:

Tell me your weakness, or one trait you consider your weakness ?
How would you answer this question to your advantage ?
