Govt rules out tax incentive beyond Rs 2L for 2nd home
Ruling out rollback of the proposal to restrict tax incentive for second home to Rs 2 lakh per annum, Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia on Saturday said there is no point in subsidizing purchase of second property by those who have surplus funds.

Economy to grow more than 7% next fiscal: Das
Stepping up the growth pitch, economic affairs secretary Shaktikanta Das on Saturday expressed confidence that the economy will grow upwards of 7 per cent next fiscal.

Banks set to keep rates low due to slow growth in credit
Bank credit increased by nearly Rs 1.7 lakh crore during the current financial year up to January 20, 2017, as compared to a more than Rs 11-lakhcrore increase in deposits. This huge gap in growth of banks’ resources, even as demand remains tepid, points to further reduction in interest rates.

Travel ban: Air France reopens US flights to passengers
Air France said on Saturday it had reopened US-bound flights to passengers affected by President Donald Trump's travel ban on nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries, after the executive order was temporarily suspended by a federal court.
