Thanks Kassala for sharing over this historical struggle document published by academics in the efforts to retain their freedoms, which was prompted by state expulsion of key figures from the University of Dar es Salaam - Chachage (RIP) and others resisted such state intrusion – hence this declaration. I was there! That was the time when the state accused some UDSM lecturers of supporting wind of change movement (Mageuzi).
And as contribution the Declaration Shivji published "What is left of Left Intellectuals at the Hill".
