Gold weakens, silver below Rs 39,000 on global cues
Gold dropped to Rs 28,665, silver fell by Rs 500 to Rs 38,500 per kg on Monday due to reduced offtake by industrial units and coin makers. In the national capital, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity fell by Rs 185 each to Rs 28,665 and Rs 28,515 per ten grams, respectively.

Sensex cuts initial gains, still up 39 points
The BSE Sensex lost its early momentum, but still traded up 39.14 points or 0.15 per cent to quote at 26,692.74 at 12.26pm. The NSE 50-share Nifty also rose 11.75 points, or 0.14 per cent, to quote at 8,168.40.

Rupee opens 25 paise lower against dollar at 67.28
The rupee weakened 25 paise to 67.28 against the dollar in early trade on Monday following month-end demand for the American currency from importers and banks. The rupee had appreciated 14 paise against the American currency to end at a one-week high of 67.03 on Friday.
