Subject: SUGECO In pictures

Dear all
As we all know we SUGECO was invited by the prime minister.

I just want you to know that we represented SUGECO, DAEA and SUA well. Thank you for your prayers. The meetings lasted from 11am sharp to 4:30pm. Prime minister chaired the meeting. We had ministers from agriculture, livestock, community, empowerment, finance, industries and trade, employment and labour, and various assistants. SUGECO was represented by 6 entrepreneurs from 5 companies (all of them were recognized in SUGECO 2nd year anniversary) and, I and Daniel (the secretary). I was given time to present about SUGECO - I used one hour for that - All were very attentive. I had two parts: (1) about SUGECO and another about implementation of PM directives given Nanenane 2012. In between We had testimonials of 5 cugeco entrepreneurs well captured in the video (the same video used by CRDB in the president meeting).

The PM was happy with all the support given by SUA which I iterated with confidence following informed meeting we held with SUA management (VC and DVC(Ac) before this meeting. The support included:
  1. Office space for expanding SUGECO program (at the business center)
  2. Farm infrastructure were fit
  3. The old SUA bookshop for supermarket (following the call from ADM)
  4. The incubator program - land at New DAEA establishment for incubator/action research activities (on-going)
  5. Excellent support by various SUA staff to SUGECO activities

It was very encouraging - there are several action plans following small presentation by ministers and finally the PM.
Offers included but not limited to the following:
  1. PM taking us back to the president to ask for 10bill - paper to be prepared within 3 weeks (Empowerment to lead)
  2. Tax holidays - 5 years for SUGECO supported companies
  3. SUGECO accredited food lab to be supported
  4. Land in all 55 community colleges under the ministry of gender... to be assessed and allocated to SUGECO were fit
  5. Getting loans at 5-10% interest base on Government cash covers of various program in all banks TIB included
  6. One stop center at the BAZARA LA UWEZESHAJI for sugeco needs
  7. Training - to be organized in collaboration with BARAZA
  8. Open door policy for all 7 ministers to SUGECO needs
  9. Free service for certification and bar codes (expedited services)
  10. Invited to the Bunge session before 12/09 to be organized by MoAFS - 3days exhibition and selling
  11. Women bank to have special window for SUGECO
  12. Bank association to have special scheme for SUGECO (ministry of finance to lead)
  13. SUGECO to officiate UJASIRIAMALI Book with the PM
  14. Endorsement of SUGECO to donors and Tanzania's well wishers
  15. SUGECO processors who want to support suppliers of raw materials (farmers) to get fertilizer and seeds subsidy - the national scheme.
