Press Releases: Deputy Secretary Higginbottom To Lead U.S. Delegation to the Organization of American States General Assembly in Paraguay 05/29/2014 04:11 PM EDT Deputy Secretary HigginbottomTto Lead U.S. Delegation to the Organization of American States General Assembly in Paraguay Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC May 29, 2014 Deputy Secretary of State Heather Higginbottom will travel to Asuncion, Paraguay, June 3-5 to lead the U.S. delegation to the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), the Western Hemisphere’s premier multilateral organization. The Deputy Secretary will meet with Paraguay’s President Horacio Cartes and Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga, and will engage in discussions and consultations with regional counterparts on issues of shared interest. The U.S. delegation will include Roberta S. Jacobson, Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, and Ambassador Carmen Lomellin, U.S. Permanent Representative to the OAS.
