Friends,
Today, we had several engagements in Nairobi.
First, look at the state of Juja Road as captured by our Executive Director Mr. Odhiambo T Oketch this morning.
Secondly, Mr. Odhiambo met with the renowned Rally Driver Mr. Patrick Njiru in the morning and Mr. Njiru accepted our invitation to join in The Clean Kenya Campaign. You will be seeing more of him in our future engagements.
Thirdly, Mr. Odhiambo was a listed speaker at Nairobi Garbage Collectors Forum at the YMCA this morning. This is a programme initiated by Inuka Kenya under funding from the USAID.
Lastly, Mr. Odhiambo had a closed door meeting with Mr. Daniel Juma- Deputy Country Director at the Global Peace Festival Foundation- Kenya, Prof Nathan N Gichuki- B.Sc, M.Sc[Nbi], Ph.D[Cam], Senior Lecturer; Conservation Biology and a Consultant on Natural Resource Assessment and Management at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Nairobi, Dr. George G Ndiritu, Senior Research Scientist, Centre for Biodiversity, Wetlands and Marine at the National Museums of Kenya and the GPFF Staffers at the GPFF Offices in Nairobi.
In the meantime, we will be rolling out a Training Programme on Waste Management on the 15th November 2012 in Nairobi and already, Groups and Teams have started reaching out to us. Please write to us to enable us send to you the participation Forms detailing our various inputs into the Training Programme.
We are happy that the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, Tetra Pak Eastern Africa, The Clean Kenya Campaign and other partners have rolled out the the reclamation of the Tetra Pak Packaging from the main Waste Stream. We are in similar discussions with EcoPost to help reclaim all Plastic and Polythene Waste from the main Waste Stream.
These are innovative ways of actualizing Practical Steps towards the process of Separation on Waste at Source. We are reviewing our Partnerships and we will be happy to announce one major joint efforts towards The Clean Kenya Campaign.
Let us all work for a Clean Kenya and a Clean Africa as a Transformative Deliverable as we turn 50 in Kenya.
