Dear all
Attached you will find the 2013 World Bank Ease of Doing Business Report
for Tanzania.
It shows that we have slipped again.
As some of you might be aware, the government has, since 2009/10, prepared
a Roadmap to implement reforms which would have been reflected in improved
ranking. The President of the URT directed the reforms to be implemented
speedily, so that we improved our ranking to double digit (below 100) by
2011.
However, this is yet to happen, and as you can see, this year, we have
slipped from position 120s to 130s.
I have noted that there are many associations that are not aware of these
processes.
We should all follow up this important agenda and use every opportunity to
catalyze this process, as researchers, trainers, advocates or
implementors.
I believe the economy can grow 3-5% faster than it is growing now if we
simply do away with these barriers by effectively implementing the reforms
