Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Puneet Talwar will travel to India December 1-4 to co-chair a political-military dialogue with senior officials from India’s External Affairs and Defense ministries. The dialogue will focus on regional and maritime security, defense trade, and new areas for strategic cooperation. While in India, Assistant Secretary Talwar will also hold meetings with government officials in New Delhi, view U.S. and Indian joint ventures in the defense sector in Hyderabad, deliver remarks at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, and hold a roundtable discussion with the U.S.-India Business Council.

In recent years, the United States and India have significantly broadened our defense cooperation, as demonstrated by our increased bilateral dialogues, military exercises, and military personnel exchanges.
