Some people have the skills to save a life. But few have what it takes to do it when their own life is at risk.
MDA Paramedic Sarah Cascella needed to don a flak jacket while treating a rocket-attack victim under fire during Operation Protective Edge. MDA Paramedic Sarah Cascella needed to don a flak jacket while treating a rocket-attack victim under fire during Operation Protective Edge.
8 Days of Giving When Hamas mortars fell this summer in Israel, paramedic Sarah Cascella didn't have the luxury of taking to the bomb shelters. Instead, she risked her own life to treat the injured while mortars continued to fall around them. Sarah knew the risks, but she rushed into the line of fire anyway. "If I run away," she says, "people die." As we begin the Eight Days of Giving Campaign, please make a gift today to help save more lives and make more miracles possible this Chanukah. Your gift will be matched 25 percent and do more good for Israel.

Chanukah menorah - first candle
Thanks to a generous matching grant, every gift during Chanukah, up to $800,000, will be matched 25 percent. That means with your help, we could raise $1 million for Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency medical response agency. Our goal is to raise $100,000 a day. Progress shown above includes the matching funds.
