I for one, have now moved from Airtel to Voda on the issue of prepaid phone service; simply because of an abrupt increase in charges that was done about a month ago, without notice and without apology. LConsider this, used to purchase 100 minutes of air time for about 3000/- for a week and now with around the same amount you only get 40 mins! How do you call that? Rip off? This and other similar kind of actions, are now rampant in the country. I think, for the volume of money transacted by mobile phone companies per day (or minute if you want) legally or otherwise and the implication of their operations to the economy of an ordinary citizen; a Dedicated Regulatory Authority to protect we the consumers against these Giants, is highly desirable. My guess is TCRA, with a plate full of so many issues, is not enough!! This said, individual actions to assist people who are 'trapped in the operations of these networks retrieve their moneys' deserve commendation.
