[wanabidii] Re: (VVM Forum) The Clean up Campaign at Huruma was a big flop

There are so many such stories that one can write a 1000-page book if one were to compile them. I'll give you one example, one that happened to me and involved a member of these blogs, someone who does not con tribute here much but comes in every once in a while.

I needed to get some basic information about someone in Dar. It was info that one could find out in less than a day.  This friend told me that he had a Private investigator sitting there with him and for $100, the PI could get started immediately and find me that info within 24 hrs. There was so much pressure on me to MoneyGram the money right away so the PI could get started.  I did. Infact I even made a private arrangement with a friend of mine who worked at the MoneyGram outlet (in Canada) to open the office 15 min earlier so I could send the money right away before the closing hour of the banks in Dar.

Long story short, that's the last I heard anything about the supposed PI or about the case itself. I never received a single piece of information from any PI or the friend. When I caught up with the friend months later, he reacted very angrily and "threatened" to pay me back "from his pocket" if that money was so important to me. He lectured me about how $100 was not the end of the world and that I should mature up and move on with more important things !!!!  He was now proposing a business we could do together instead of dwelling on the $100  !!!!  Talk about nerve and impunity !!!!  This person actually expected me to get into doing business with him after the $100 debacle !!!! 
I think some of these people are so steeped in such frauds that they have lost a sense of logic or what's right or wrong.

Very much agreed, I must confess that henceforth, when  a fraud is identified, I will keep my mouth shut and allow things to unravel.

I am a culprit of defending such but after I learnt the hard way how these folks operate, I am wiser.

They will post all sorts of niceties on internet, they effectively use the net where gullible people suppose they offer services, are doing some noble work or are serving humanity.

Until you get in close contact with them and observe, you may never know the truth and will even become a regular contributor to their "noble cause".

I laugh a lot when I see some folks encourage such with " you are doing good work, ignore detractors" etc.

I wish they would know the filth under. I now believe you 200% regarding the story you raised here over 2 years ago how you lost Ksh. 250,000/= sent from the US for business proposal implementation which a smart fellow turned into a donation.

Another lady fellow resident of the US suffered the same fate and lost Ksh 90,000/=. Diaspora like yourself need be very cautious, very afraid of such folks.

Thanks for being candid on this. A few days ago I gave an elaborate statement on how lack of foresight led me through some Journey with a man whom I thought had some grain of integrity in his Blood. Little did i know that the man's soul and his entire blood system flows "Con." He loves easy free money and so when I was serious trying to initiate a business venture with him, he on the other hand was looking for free easy money; money that you don't sweat for. In short he is a Free Loader.

When I put what happened between him and me for the public to be aware, some people in the forum did not take it kindly. They actually said that am fighting this man. In the end I was left wondering where our moral decadence disappeared to. Did we loose it all to a point that there no longer exists people of integrity? Could it be that Impunity is catching up with Kenyans like a Bush fire to an extend everyone is consumed in it? Has Kenya become the Biblical Soddom and Gomorra when it comes to impunity? If not then I would like to see a situation where the Con man is castigated instead of me  being seen as the bad person. Au siyoo?

What evidence of impunity do you want other than the fellow acknowledging on the forums he owes and then refusing to pay and call the person he owes "journeyman?"

How does that sit with you? If we are going to be people who fight impunity, let us not try to molly coddle things.

It is wrong to receive anything by false presences and if it takes any court, legit or public opinion to get such people to own up, so be it.

BTW and on a lighter note, public opinion courts are normally very effective, both in cost and time to reach judgement and have the " accused" live up to their obligations.

One con on the forums is paying privately because of the threat of bring exposed, he has paid a handsome amount so far.

I sit in the "kangaroo court" that decided his fate.

You may have reasons to react the way you have but I do not think I deserve that response , the allegations , innuendos and unflattering labels!
I made a forthright suggestion that if people have clear evidence of wrongdoing on the part of anyone,including the President, you give that to the responsible arm of government!That is why Senate has gone to court over the assent of the President on the county allocation of funds Kshs 210B n 259B!
Please please understand that I am not protecting anybody! And I abhor impunity and corruption! Were it not the case , I would be doing something in New York or so.
On the other hand, the Forum can not and must not be converted into a Kangaroo court!
I rest my case any wish to terminate by contribution.

Before you speak further, embarrass and expose yourself as someone supporting impunity, can you ask your friend to pay for the services he procured from Lee worth Ksh. 14,000/= and refusing to pay yet it was for the same initiative he claims to front to fight poverty?

This is a young man trying to survive in business and yet someone comes along, gets his car for hire and refuses to pay and calls him a "journeyman" and you want to pontificate to us here that there are sour grapes blah blah blah.

You must have been away when we were discussing professional con men who have gone on the loose and rampage on these forums.

One woman is mourning over Ksh. 14,000/= from another one who claimed he could register a business for her in 1 day, to date nothing even after 3 weeks and empty promises.

Another man is crying over the same chap for Ksh. 10,000/= he paid for some job arrangement for his son which the same con pocketed over 4 months ago and to date, nothing, he has not given the young man the job he promised within his circles.

Lee is crying over 14000/= which he was promised after giving his car and now he is being abused for his understanding.

Mbemba is crying over another, yet another also conned Lee Ksh 2500/= and yet to pay. These people are advertisign all sorts of things on blogs and end up swindling "wenyeinchi", innocent ones at that.

We are on a war path against all frauds and cons and you can defend them all you want but we will run them out of town.

No apologies brother.

You could not have said it better, I keep repeating here at the risk of sounding like a broken record that KIMISHO will defraud members if it cannot pay for services rendered by vendors, how will it ensure that members savings are safe, that they get loans they apply for,that they service the same, that measures are in place for accountability, transparency, integrity and ethical conduct( Oto hates the last phrases with a venom, just look how he will respond with loathe for those words!).

If Oto pays Lee, I will join you in apologizing to him and I will toss a drink in his name, but if he continues calling Lee a "journeyman" for demanding his payment, we will hold his two feet to fire until he is totally burnt out and ran out of these blogs!

That is the height of impunity, you owe money and you abuse the person you owe!!!!

You mean OTO has not paid Lee Makwiny for the car he hired from Lee in May? This is not right. I'm beginning to get a feeling that OTO hired this car knowing very well that he was either not able to pay or not planning to pay for it. That is not simple dishonesty, that is theft and we should therefore start calling OTO a thief.

If we're spoiling his name here, he should come here with proof that he has paid Lee and we' will apologize.

An organization that cannot pay debts cannot be allowed to collect money from innocent Kenyans, it will become a PYRAMID SCHEME and people will loose their hard earned money.

City Hall must have "failed" this time for they did not provide wheelbarrows, spades, nose masks, brooms and all the paraphernalia for the show and photo sessions.

I cannot agree with Oto more, this was a flop for the only photo here is of another previous function rather than photo posing for the 'clean up."

Is this where other "initiatives" under the umbrella are headed? FLOP!

Dear Friends,
I want to start by appreciating the many residents of Huruma who turned up on Saturday the 29th June 2013 expecting to join with His Excellency the President for a Clean-up Campaign and left disappointed. We were equally disappointed at The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC.
From the outset, The Governor and his Team at the Department of Environment ignored us and we did not mind. We knew that Clean-ups were never the only domain for us and as such, we were willing to sit out and just join in like all the rest of the participants. We only joined the last planning session when NEMA invited us to their meeting with the Exhibitors. No officer from the Nairobi City County attended that meeting at NEMA Headquarters.
Then the anti-climax; the President ordered the hawkers back to the streets! Was he well briefed on the question of Waste and Waste Management? He said nothing on this, yet, this was the real thing.

It is a known fact that we have hosted several very successful Clean-up Campaigns across the whole Country. Our organizational acumen and professional engagement speaks for it self. We were hence taken aback when some Journeyman from Kisumu, posted on social media that I do not belong to, that he had authority and instructions from the office of the Governor of Nairobi to disassociate The Clean Kenya Campaign-TCKC from what the Governor and his Team were going to do at Huruma. 
We took it in our stride, because, we had not indicated in any space that we were co-hosting the event. The truth is now beginning to emerge and we are happy that we were not part of that mess.
We want to invite our investigative Journalists to dig into this circus where our President was taken. We would want to know the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I have said this before; shifting of waste from one place to another can NEVER be Waste Management. And boasting of a Phd without tangible results on the ground is a sham. Nairobi remains the dirtiest City in the Sun and it is a shame that officers detailed to keep our City Clean are more concerned with contracts for printing T-shirts, caps and procuring useless Cleaning Materials.
We have hosted several successful Clean-up Events across Kenya and we are happy that not a single Council has given us a penny for our efforts. And we have also NEVER asked for a single penny from any Council. Our efforts have been paid for by Friends of KCDN and TCKC and we salute all of them for this.
Let the world be told what exactly happened at Huruma and let all those who exposed our President to such poor organization and execution of such a noble Campaign be shown the door.
