[wanabidii] Re: "They want to kill me"

Good People,

These injustices are unacceptable and no other human being has a right to intimidate or
frustrate other peoples lives, livelihood or survival.  Davi Kopenawa, a leading Amazon shaman and spokesman for the Yanomami tribe has received death threats from armed men that have left him fearing for his life. We must take all threats seriously as
many in the same situation met with their death and nothing happens after that.

Life is a right good people.  Threat of life in ways and means is a crime, violation and abuse
of humanity; which is unacceptable.  We all must fight together to secure and protect rights through legal means and justice is a right.

It is about time we take these matters to court of Law so justice must be seen to be done
fairly and justly.

We call upon all people of good faith to join with us to bring these injustices of Land Grabbing before the Court of Law so all Land Grabbers must face their judgement in
Court and prepare to pay back what they took away irregularly from the weak or in
ways and means that are either criminal, or violated and abused basic fundamentals requirements of Democratic principle that are against peace and protocol for good and harmonious governance.

Human Rights are internationally recognized and all people of the world have a right to
live a descent, respectful, honorable and justified livelihood; a lifestyle that have a right
to shelter and access food in an acceptable and meaningful way.  People have a right to
protect their dwelling places and no one life should be threatened because other people
want to take their land irregularly and forcefully.

Together, let us support in our own ways as we have a duty to share and support Survival International and hold their back in their struggle for justice.

"They want to kill me"

Davi Kopenawa, a leading Amazon shaman and spokesman for the Yanomami tribe has received death threats from armed men that have left him fearing for his life.
These are not empty threats – indigenous activists are frequently assassinated for resisting the destruction of their land.
Davi's life is in danger.

Uncontacted Indians tell of a terrible massacre

Violent attacks caused a group of uncontacted Amazon Indians to emerge from the rainforest last month. They talked of a massacre by non-Indians – according to the tribesmen, so many people were killed that that they couldn't bury them all and their corpses were eaten by vultures.

Survival is doing everything it can to secure uncontacted tribes' land for them, and to give them the chance to determine their own futures.

Survival will not give up until we all have a world where tribal peoples are respected and their human rights protected.
