IPCC AR5 WG1 Report Release | | | | | "Warming of the climate system in unequivocal, and since the 1950's, many of the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia. The atmosphere and oceans have warmed, the amounts of snow and ice have diminished, sea level has risen and the concentrations of greenhouse gasses have increased." The work that has gone into producing this assessment is a phenomenal achievement, and is a testament to the perseverance, determination and capabilities of the climate scientist community. I would like to take this opportunity to particularly emphasize and congratulate the CLIVAR scientists who have worked hard to contribute to the assessment process. The SPM and full report will be released formally on Monday 30th September. Thank you for your hard work and dedication; to your own science, your contribution to the IPCC process and for the work you do within CLIVAR. Without your efforts CLIVAR would not have such a powerful legacy and exciting future ahead of it. Happy reading! Roger Barry and the ICPO team | | | | Copyright © 2013 CLIVAR, All rights reserved.
