Sensex, Nifty surge after RBI announced policy rates
When the market closed, 30-share BSE Sensex was at 31,271.28, up by 80.72 points while the broader NSE Nifty was at 9,663.90, up by 26.75 points. The bullish sentiment of market in the closing hours might be seen as a thumbs up to RBI for maintaining a status quo.

HDFC Bank introduces charges for UPI transactions
Even as the National Payments Corporation of India considers nudging banks to offer free transactions using the Unified Payments Interface, HDFC Bank has introduced charges on UPI. These charges make small value payments over UPI more expensive than those on national electronic fund transfer.

500 Lloyds Bank jobs may come to IBM India
Almost 500 IT jobs outsourced by Lloyds Bank to IBM are expected to come to India. The British bank is outsourcing large parts of its IT to IBM in a deal worth over £1.3 billion over 10 years. It is expected to involve 1,900 jobs.
