Government sells 2.5 per cent stakes in Larsen & Toubro
Government is aiming to raise Rs 725 billion through the sale of partial stakes in state-run and private firms during the year to March 2018, which will contribute to meeting the government's fiscal deficit target of 3.2 per cent of GDP.

Government asks banks to deposit junked notes at RBI by July 20
This is the second window the government has provided to banks, post offices and cooperative banks for depositing the junked notes with RBI. The earlier window was open till December 31, a day after the 50-day period of demonetisation of high value currency.

Sebi eases norms for acquisition of distressed assets
The board also approved a proposal to tighten the rules for participatory notes through imposition of a regulatory fee on issuers of such instruments. Besides, Sebi would issue discussion paper for easier registration of foreign investors.
