HDFC Q3 profit rises 13% to Rs 2,729 crore
HDFC, the mortgage lender, on Monday reported a 12.80 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 2,728.66 crore for the third quarter ended December. Profit for October-December of 2015-16 stood at Rs 2,419 crore.

Vodafone confirms merger talks with Idea Cellular
In a short statement, Vodafone said it was in talks with Idea's parent, conglomerate Aditya Birla. It said any merger would involve Idea issuing new shares to Vodafone and would result in Vodafone deconsolidating Vodafone India.
