[wanabidii] Re: (VVM Forum) Death of Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela transcended South Africa and Africa. He was, eventually, a moral compass for the world - an international figure whose legacy will continue to provide inspiration for generations to come.

Madiba's legacy includes the establishment of a constitutional democracy in South Africa, and the replication of these values and ideals across Africa. He will be remembered as an ardent protagonist of pan-Africanism who went out of his way to help solve some of Africa's most devastating conflicts.

Fifty years after the formation of the African Union and the Organization of African Unity before it, Madiba's belief in a politically and economically independent continent remains a priority for African leaders today.

Our leaders are eulogizing the fallen heroe by telling us to emulate Madiba - perhaps there is no better reference and opportunity for them to demonstrate what they see in Mandela so that its not a case of taking wine and preaching water!

R.I.P Tata Madiba.

I am not a South African by any chance ... perhaps only in relation to

it is a monumental loss for the continent , he gave much pride to us
for being among the few African statesman who were magnanimous (
perhaps the only leader ) in their leadership , had great vision for
their people not to mention charismatic lessons to most of our other
leaders .
Had our leaders had a tenth of the humility Madiba has , what a great
continent this would be .
It is with great sadness that I accept the death of Nelson Mandela

Why should we not all live in peace and harmony ? we look up the same stars
, we are fellow passengers on the same planet and dwell beneath the same

the ultimate truth ? the riddle of existence is too great that there should
be only one road leading us to an answer
