[wanabidii] INTERVIEW WITH BOYD RUTHERFORD AND FOCUS GROUP ABOUT BLACKS AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

As most of you know, Black Americans for a Better Future launched its inaugural speaker’s series last week with my interview with Maryland Lieutenant Governor, Boyd Rutherford.  He is the second highest elected Black Republican in the U.S. and most Republicans are unfamiliar with him.

We invited 100 of the most successful Black businessmen from DC, Maryland, and Virginia to attend this historic luncheon.

We are a federally registered 527 Super PAC, the first of its kind in the U.S.  Our goal is to get more Blacks involved in the Republican Party.  Our focus is strictly on the Black entrepreneur.

My interview with Rutherford last week at the National Press Club was his first national interview since he and Governor Larry Hogan were sworn in back in January.

Immediately after my interview with Lt. Gov. Rutherford, I moderated a historic focus group of Black Republicans, Democrats, and Independents about their views of the Republican Party.

The focus group was fascinating and very blunt.  But the takeaway clearly was that the Black community is not averse to voting Republican; they just haven’t been given a reason to.

The event last week received wide media coverage (links will be coming soon) and we have been inundated with phone calls and emails asking us to help with the Black vote in states across the country; and we plan on doing so.

But to do so effectively, we need your financial support.  I have a generous donor who has issued as a matching challenge.  If we raise $ 200k, he will match us with another $ 200k.  We want to raise our $ 200k by the end of December.  Please let us know how much we can count on you for.

Contributions should be mailed to:
