"After IndiGo, Bird Group has written a letter with an expression of interest in Air India," the aviation secretary said today. Surviving on taxpayers' money, the airline has been in the red for long. The Cabinet has given in-principle approval for strategic disinvestment of the carrier.

Markets overcome losses, Sensex jumps above 250 points
The 30-share BSE Sensex gained 258.07 points to close on 31,646.46 while the 50-share NSE Nifty finished trading on 9,884.40, up by 88.35 points. The Nifty went past the psychological mark of 9,900, however failed to hold on to the gains when the bourses closed for the day.

Settlement with Bakshi not possible, says McDonald's
The NCLAT, which had last week asked both the parties to consider settling the dispute among themselves, has ordered them to file replies on cross petitions filed against each other, within a week. Counsel for McDonald's said that the settlement of dispute with the franchise partner was not possible.
