Sensex, Nifty register moderate gains on sedate day
Both the indices stayed rangebound with Sensex and Nifty trading within the range of 100 and 20 points respectively. The market breadth too, was fairly moderate as about 1,640 shares advanced against 957 declining shares on the BSE.

Service sector grows to eight-month high on new orders
The Nikkei India Services Purchasing Managers' Index, which tracks services output on a monthly basis, increased to 53.1 in June, from 52.2 in May, signalling a "solid and accelerated" upturn in output across the sector. Meanwhile, manufacturing sector growth eased to a four- month low in June.

Liqour ban along highways: UP suffers Rs 5,000 crore loss
"We have incurred a loss of about Rs 5,000 crore in 2016-17 fiscal ending March 31. Out of the target of realising Rs 19,000 crore, the excise department could generate Rs 14,000 crore following the apex court order order," UP excise minister Jai Pratap Singh said.
