Press Releases: Under Secretary Stengel's Travel to Kuwait To Lead Coalition Communications Conference 10/23/2014 01:53 PM EDT Under Secretary Stengel's Travel to Kuwait To Lead Coalition Communications Conference Media Note Office of the Spokesperson Washington, DC October 23, 2014 Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Richard Stengel will travel to Kuwait to lead the U.S. delegation for the October 27 conference of coalition partners focused on countering ISIL messaging and combatting violent extremism in the region. The government of Kuwait is hosting the conference and senior officials from Bahrain, Egypt, France, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the UAE, have been invited to participate. The conference will present an opportunity for an in-depth exchange of ideas for increasing cooperation among coalition partners. Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL General John Allen will open the conference. While in Kuwait, Under Secretary Stengel will also meet with U.S. exchange program alumni and young entrepreneurs.
