Sensex vaults 213 points ahead of economic data, earnings
Snapping its three-day losing run, the benchmark BSE Sensex on Tuesday zoomed by about 213 points to close at 29,788 on investor optimism about March quarter earnings amid mixed global cues.

Passenger vehicles sales up 9.96% in March, cars by 8.17%
Domestic passenger vehicle sales registered a growth of 9.96 per cent at 2,82,519 units in March, from 2,56,920 in the same month last year. Domestic car sales were up 8.17 per cent at 1,90,065 units as against 1,75,709 in March last year.

Rupee falls more, higher equities contain damage
The cup of woes for the rupee seems to be brimming over as it weakened 13 paise more to 64.69 against the dollar in early session on Tuesday as US rate hike fears come back to haunt participants.
