Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State David H. Thorne to Travel to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt

Senior Advisor to the Secretary of State, Ambassador David H. Thorne, will travel to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, Cairo and Luxor from February 7-12, 2016 to discuss regional economic issues and the Egyptian economy.

On February 7th, Ambassador Thorne will have a full day of meetings in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai in support of continued regional economic engagement efforts. He will speak with senior government officials as well as business leaders in the UAE.

On February 8th, the Ambassador will travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to meet with high level government officials, U.S. business leaders, and local entrepreneurs to discuss bilateral and regional economic cooperation.

Then, on February 9th he will travel to Cairo, Egypt to discuss a broad range of economic issues with senior Egyptian officials and business executives, as well as meet with representatives of U.S. businesses operating in Egypt.

Finally, on February 11th Ambassador Thorne will travel to Luxor, Egypt to meet with local officials and visit U.S. Agency for International Development sponsored projects. He will visit a number of cultural sites in Luxor to highlight the contribution of Egypt's cultural heritage and antiquities preservation as a vehicle to promote tourism and economic development in the country.
