On May 11, Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to Brussels, Belgium. She will join U/S Sherman in meetings with senior European Union officials as part of regular consultations with the EU to discuss the broad range of global issues on the transatlantic agenda. She will also meet with senior NATO officials in preparation for the NATO Summit in September. In Luxembourg, Assistant Secretary Nuland will meet with senior government officials to discuss the range of bilateral and regional issues as well as issues on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council, where Luxembourg is currently a member. On May 13, Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to Tallinn, Estonia, where she will meet with senior Estonian officials to discuss the range of bilateral and global issues on which we cooperate. She will also meet with parliamentarians to discuss regional security issues. In Bratislava, Slovakia, on May 14, Assistant Secretary Nuland will speak at the annual Slovak government-hosted GLOBSEC security conference. She will also hold bilateral discussions with senior Slovak government officials, as well as with key officials from other states in the region who are participating in the conference. Assistant Secretary Nuland will then travel to London, to meet with senior British government officials and discuss the full range of bilateral and global issues as well as preparations for the NATO Summit. |
