Hii kitu mimi toka jana nashindwa cha kusema. Imeniuma mpaka nikahisi si kweli. Yaani huyu Mtanzania hayupo tena? Kwamba washenzi wakali wamechukua maisha yake kirahisi tu, kwa mapanga tu? 

Siku moja, miezi michache iliyopita, nilikutana na Prof Kabudi; tukazungumzia katiba mpya na akasema tupange siku ili Dkt. Mvungi naye awepo kwenye gumzo. Maskini dunia hii, kabla sijajipanga niwatafute mabingwa hawa wa sheria nchini, vibaka wanakatisha maisha yake! Imenichukua muda kuamini.

Lakini tu, niseme hivi, kwamba kama Tanzania haitapata makamanda wa polisi mahiri na wenye akili na hekima, na wakasimamiwa na wanasiasa wasio na ubinafsi, basi nchi yetu itashindikana kuishi kabisa. Hatuwezi kuimudu kasi hii ya uhalifu. Tunahitaji mapinduzi katika sekta ya usalama wa raia. Kwa hali ilivyo leo hii, mambo ni magumu.

Poleni Watanzania wenzangu na familia ya Dkt. Mvungi. Tutamkumbuka kama mmoja wa mashujaa wetu, mwanasiasa, na nguli wa sheria. Kifo chake kiwe chachu ya mapinduzi katika mfumo mzima wa usalama wa raia.
