When some members of the Somali Community blogged chest-thumping, I warned that any such sentiments could have a boomerang effect over Ethnic and Somali Somalis living in Kenya. Similarly, the on-going attacks on members of the Somali Community may have a boomerang effect against the Kenyans working in Somalia. Just as the Al-Shabab and their sympathizers remain mainly on the fringe of the mainstream Somali Society, the on-going attacks and or threats against the Somali Community are perpetrated by persons on the fringes and margins of the Kenya Society. These category of Citizens have the minimum contribution to the development of their respective Communities but if unchecked, may negatively injure and permanently harm the well-being of the mainstream sectors of their respective Communities.
Just as KDF supplemented the efforts of the AMISOM Troops to help contain the Al-Shabaab menace, so too should all Kenyans of good will come together to stop these Goons from making the most important decisions for us.

This is not a fracas but xenophobic attacks and they must be stopped at all costs. The police have a duty to stop this menace and it is regrettable that they are looking on as the goons attack people and are even invading homes and looting property.
Reports are speaking about some people being killed while others point to a plan to torch a mosque near Mathare and if such horrible actions are left to continue, it can degenerate into an ethnic and religious war whose tentacles could spread far and wide. We should never let this to continue, the govt has an obligation and a responsibility to ensure that peace and harmony prevails.
It is regrettable that the media is silent about what is currently happening in Eastleigh. I am sure if it was the other way round, it will now be breaking news and a source of concern but with Somalis under attack, it is appears to be business as usual.
It is still not yet known who the perpetrators of yesterdays gruesome and merciless killings are but even if those suspected were Somalis, this does not mean that the whole community was involved or supported the beastly act. In many mosques yesterday, the attack was strongly condemned and no person who calls himself a Muslim can condone such an act. It cannot in anyway justified and those behind it if they calim to subscribe to the tenets of Islam, they have no moral responsibility of calling themselves Muslims. They did not do it in the name of Islam or the Somali Community. Islam does not in anway condone such actions.
Ultimately, the police have a bigger responsibility of ensuring that peace and security prevails. They should not allow this mayhem to continue and should not sit by and watch as people slaughter each other and chose to intervene later when the situation has escalated as controlling it could be a daunting task. Innocent Kenyans have been killed recently in Tana River and Baragoi and the government should not allow this nonsense to spread right at the doors of the nation capital.
Sanity, peace and harmony should be left to prevail
