Patiala to get underground solid waste bins
In a first step towards smart city , the municipal corporation (MC) is all set to begin with setting up of Underground Solid Waste Bin' in Patiala as a pilot project. The civic body is selecting 12 sites for their installation.Under the project, a company has been given the task on trial basis to install the bin at Nabha Gate near Modi Plaza in the city, while it would cost over Rs 8 lakh. Every bin would cover a surrounding area of half a kilometre from where the waste would be dumped. The site at Modi Plaza where the pilot project is being launched will cater Khalsa Mohalla, Toori Bazar, Nabha Gate Bazar, Bageecha Chet Ram, Fire brigade rear side, Behrha Road and Anardana Chowk, from where the waste will be collected and dumped into the bin.
